Oddball Route Endings in Missouri

Most of the time a highway ends in Missouri, it is at an intersection with another highway or at some location in a state park. Here are some exceptions.

Numbered route ends at a city street

Numbered route ends at a railroad crossing

Numbered route ends at T intersection with lettered route

Numbered route ends at intersection with lettered route, lettered route also ends, other intersecting route not on state system

Numbered route becomes lettered route (no junction)

Saint Louis city limit

At state line: becomes county road

Duplex: both routes end

Duplex: one route ends, the other continues

Routes end from opposite directions (effectively, one route changes numbers)

Mississippi River endings

Duplexed with business route, both ending
